How much vitamin K2 is in the natto from De Hobbit?
Our analysis indicates that there are 5.8 milligrams of vitamin K2 in 1 kg of natto, so 580 µg/100g.
About 20 grams of natto per day should be sufficient for the daily requirement of vitamin K2.
20 grams corresponds to 1 tablespoon.
Freeze
You can freeze natto, in the packaging in which we sell it.
To make natto, we use bacteria that, through fermentation, break down the protein in the soy beans in smaller particles, which are then easier absorbed by the human body. Freezing temporarily stops the bacteria growth in the natto, but it does not kill them. The quality of the natto is certainly still guaranteed!
Important: always thaw the product in the refrigerator (max 7°C).
Shelf life
The packaging of our natto has a lid, as wel as a seal. The seal is perforated, to make sure that the bacteria continue to live. In other words, the shelf life does not change once you opened the seal. However, we recommend that you always place the lid on the natto when storing it.
For example : if the best before date (as printed on the sleeve/cardboard) is March 5th, the natto can be kept until this date, even if you opened the seal on beforehand.
Of course, as always, follow your gut feeling: if you notice that the natto smells and/or looks different, we recommend that you do not continue consuming the natto.
